Welcome

21 Countries was conceived in 2004 by Gloria Llama and Eduardo Olvera, to address the communication challenges and real life implications of non-existent or poorly done Spanish translations around us.

We’ve run across too many instances of people almost dying of an overdose because the prescription labels were not in Spanish, or mothers not being able to collect child support for their children because the forms were too confusing or illegible. On the other hand, there are many companies providing extraordinary products and services that Spanish speakers don’t know about or cannot understand. They deserve and sometimes even need each other, they just can’t overcome these complex communication barriers.

What does the future hold? Just in the last Census, the data shows 44.3 Million Hispanics living in the US – 14.8% of the total population. That means that by 2050, 1 out of every 4 individuals will be Latino. That’s a 24.3% annual growth rate, 3 times the growth rate of the entire country!

And how will they express their preferences? By voting with their voices and their wallets, with a currently purchasing power of over $700 Billion, estimated to reach $1 Trillion by 2010.

One official language, 21 Countries. Don’t worry. We’re here to help.
